The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics provides an ideal training environment for Medical Toxicology. As the state’s only comprehensive academic medical center, we have a very busy consult service which receives over 900 unique consults per year, including the most complex patients in the region. Our large referral base offers a wide variety of patients as well as a diverse patient population from rural and underserved communities. With all our subspecialists under one roof, we also work very closely with our other consultants which allows for collaboration on research, education, and many elective opportunities which allows for a well-rounded education. The fellowship is an ACGME-accredited 2-year program. Upon completion, fellows will be eligible to sit for the board exam in Medical Toxicology.
