We are pleased to announce Ruth Chimenti, PT, PhD, will be joining the Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science faculty May 2019 as an Assistant Professor.  She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri and Ph.D. degree in Health Practice Research from the University of Rochester in New York. After receiving her Ph.D., Dr. Chimenti obtained experience as a postdoctoral fellow/scholar at the University of Rochester and then in the Neurobiology of Pain Research Laboratory at the University of Iowa. As Assistant Professor, Dr. Chimenti will be involved with teaching within the DPT and PhD programs and continue her research endeavors. Her research focuses on understanding biomechanical and biopsychosocial factors that contribute to the development, progression and chronicity of foot and ankle disorders. Dr. Chimenti looks forward to further research collaborations within the department, college and university.
