It is with pleasure that we announce Anita Vanderveer, MEd, has accepted the position of Human Resources Director for the Stead Family Department of Pediatrics, effective Monday, December 13. As she transitions to her new position within the department, Anita will continue to work in partnership with Stefanie Pirkl.

Anita joined the UIHC in September 2020 and currently serves as Human Resources Manager for the Stead Family Children’s Hospital and the Child Health Specialty Clinics under the division of Child & Community Health. Prior to joining UIHC, she served as Panera Bread’s Chief People Officer, leading the company’s mission, vision, and game plan, and developing a new structure within their Human Resources department, connecting the department’s goals with the business priorities. Prior to that, Anita held the position of Senior Vice President of Human Resources for SONIC Drive-In for nearly eight years, and she has history in educating Human Resources Masters Concentration at the University of Oklahoma.
