Dr. Kathleen Janz appointed to federal Physical Activity Guidelines Advisory Committee

Kathleen JanzDr. Kathleen Janz, Professor in the Department of Health and Human Physiology, has been appointed to the 2018 Physical Activity Guidelines Advisory Committee. The committee, made up of 17 nationally recognized experts in physical activity, is part of Office of Disease Prevention & Health Promotion within the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

Over the next two years, the committee will examine current scientific evidence on the relationship between physical activity and health outcomes. The committee’s recommendations will help the Department of Health & Human Services develop the second edition of the Physical Activity Guide for Americans, a resource providing science-based guidance on physical activity for use by health professionals and policymakers.
