Dr. Kamal Rahmouni honored by International Society of Hypertension

Kamal Rahmouni, PhDDr. Kamal Rahmouni, Associate Professor in the Departments of Pharmacology and Internal Medicine in the Carver College of Medicine, and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center and the Obesity Research and Education Initiative at the University of Iowa, has been awarded the 2016 Paul Korner Award by the International Society of Hypertension (ISH). The award, which was presented to Rahmouni at the ISH Awards Ceremony and Presidential Lecture on Sept. 28 in Seoul, South Korea, recognizes scientists who have made outstanding contributions to hypertension research in the field of neuroscience. Dr. Rahmouni’s research focuses on the neurobiology of metabolism, energy balance, and cardiovascular function and related disorders, such as obesity, diabetes, and hypertension.
