Web and Video Conferencing

Web and video conferencing is a service that allows users to participate in meetings, seminars, interviews, etc. over the internet. The service includes desktop web solutions and use of IP based video conferencing solutions.

A desktop meeting solution is available using Blackboard Collaborate! This allows large groups to meet and collaborate using personal computers. There is no limit to the number of participants in a single session. Blackboard Collaborate allows for audio, video, and the sharing of presentations or applications. Blackboard Collaborate is web based, and works on Mac, PC and Linux systems. In addition to Blackboard Collaborate we are continually evaluating other web based solutions, examples include Skype, WebEx, Lync and GoToMeeting.

Video conferencing allows individuals or groups to hold a video conference with up to three remote sites. We have several mobile units available which allows for maximum flexibility. In addition to audio and video, content from an attached computer can be shared with other participants. This service does require the remote sites to have compatible equipment. There is a fee for non University conferences.
