Butler Named UIHC Population Health Medical Director

Dr. Nick Butler has been named the UIHC Population Health Medical Director.

The Population Health Medical Director is responsible for acting as the Physician Leader for UIHC Value-Based Population Health efforts. He or she will work with clinical and multidisciplinary (HCIS, Analytics, IT, PAC, Nursing, Physicians and more) teams to design and implement sustainable clinical processes structured to drive improvements that will have the highest impact on value-based measure performance and savings. Processes will be driven off value-based contract performance; however, all workflows will be driven to help all patients in the essence of population health.

Additionally, this position will act as the Physician Champion for educating clinical teams and physicians about the value-based care model as well as important clinical topics that effect value-based performance and clinical workflows.

The Population Health Medical Director is responsible for leading the clinical implementation of the UIHC Population Health Clinical Strategy which includes work in the following strategic quadrants: Preventive Care, Management of High-Risk Patients, Transitions of Care and Post-Acute Utilization Management.
