Research Summary

LABORATORY-BASIC• Effects of radiation on Dermal Microvascular Endothelial Cells • Modulation of radiation-induced skin injury by anti-oxidative stress gene transfer and biochemical mimics strategies. • The potential role of constitutive and inducible nitric oxide synthases in radiocontrast-induced nephrotoxicity in diabetic rats. • Imaging of gene expression following gene therapy. LABORATORY-APPLIED: • Devices and concepts for percutaneous closure of atrial septal defects, patent ductus arteriosus, and peripheral vessels. • Non-covered Nitinol mesh graft for the percutaneous exclusion of abdominal aortic aneurysms. • Stent and stent-graft technology. • Trans-catheter sutureless cholecysto-duodenal biliary diversion.
