Continuing Medical Education
The department hosts two activities which give medical professionals the opportunity to further their knowledge in the field of urology. Both activities award American Medical Association Physician Recognition Award (PRA) Category 1 credits through the UI Carver College of Medicine.
Each spring a distinguished urologist presents several lectures focusing on a specialty area of urology. Urology residents are also selected to present their current research studies.
Iowa Urological Society
The Department of Urology hosts the Iowa Urological Society conference each fall in Iowa City. Distinguished lecturers, faculty and residents present various topics of interest to urologists and allied health care professionals.
