| Health Problems: | Haley is a vibrant teenager. She has very mild cerebral palsy and ADD (attention deficit disorder). Her doctor currently has her on Strattera, and this works very well for her. She has her eyes examined annually, and they seem to get a tad worse each year. She wears glasses to bring her to 20/20 vision. | ||
| Physical Limitations: | Her mild cerebral palsy limits her ability to hold a pencil correctly. She has overcome this to be able to express herself. Although it is a laboring task to write, she does so. She does not have the fine motor skills to write in cursive. She has to usually assess a situation and figure out the best way for her to handle it. And she does! | ||
| Learning Problems: | Haley, as mentioned, has ADD. This was diagnosed when she was 6. With her medication, she has gone on to be an avid reader. She is currently a sophomore in high school and carries a 3.2 grade point average in the college preparatory curriculum. She plans to go to college and pursue a degree in teaching. | ||
| Behavior Problems: | We are blessed! She has no behavioral problems. | ||
| Miscellaneous Information: |
As I said before, Haley is vibrant. She loves music of all kinds, loves to draw and spend time with her friends. She is extremely compassionate and loves to learn. She is currently a member of the French Club and SADD Club and is in the Social Justice League at her school. She keeps us hopping, and we are so fortunate to be able to "hop".
