    The University of Iowa Department of Surgery offers services at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids as part of a collaborative initiative between Mercy and UI Health Care. The clinic is staffed by UI Department of Surgery faculty members and provides general, acute care and trauma surgical services, which include:

    • Breast biopsy/surgery
    • Gallbladder surgery
    • Hernia surgery (open and laparoscopic)
    • Colon and rectal surgery (open and minimally-invasive)
    • General laparoscopic surgery
    • Vascular access surgery
    • Hemorrhoid surgery
    • Surgery of the skin and soft tissues
    • Varicose vein surgery
    • Appendectomy
