The Burdakin’s are grateful for the care Kim received at the Organ Transplant Center at the UIHC, which includes her life-changing liver transplant in 2000. Kim now spends her time advocating for organ donation with the Iowa Donor Network Board of Directors, holds fundraisers and speaks at schools and community groups encouraging people to register to become an organ donor. This pledge will be used to develop patient educational videos and tutorials for pre- and post-transplant patients, their families and at-home caregivers.
