About Research Week 2009
The Carver College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Public Health and VA Health System Research Week events are set to take place Tuesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 15 on the health sciences campus of The University of Iowa.
The 2009 event recognizing health science research at Iowa will focus on cardiovascular research and excitable cell biology. Following that theme, organizers have scheduled four nationally and internationally known speakers to present during the week. We invite you to learn more about this year's schedule of speakers with short bios and research descriptions located within this site.
Two separate poster sessions will also be held with one competition for medical and graduate students and one competition for post-doctoral fellows and staff. Each poster session will award prizes of $350. Poster registration may be done through this website beginning February 1, 2009.
Faculty Volunteers Needed
Faculty volunteers are also needed for assistance in judging poster competitions. Several positions are available for each of the two sessions. Volunteers interested in participating as judges may contact Sonya Housholder at sonya-housholder@uiowa.edu.
