Opportunities for Medical Students
The University of Iowa is one of twelve medical schools nationwide designated to host a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship Program. The program is designed to provide medical students the opportunity to explore careers in clinical research during a year-long break from formal training.
The Medical Scientist Training Program provides training both for the MD and PhD degrees in an environment that integrates graduate research training with clinical studies.
Supported for over 40 years, the Iowa Medical Student Research Program encourages medical students to engage in scientific research throughout school and beyond. The Carver College of Medicine offers students the opportunity to graduate with research distinction.
