Description: The Huntington Disease Support Group at the University of Iowa Huntington's Disease Society of America Center of Excellence welcomes individuals affected by Huntington disease as well as their families and friends. A typical support group meeting consists of informal discussion, breakout sessions, and a guest speaker. Description: This peer-led support group supported by the University of Iowa Huntington’s Disease Society of America Center of Excellence is designed to provide support to individuals who are at risk of developing Huntington disease (which includes both those who don’t know there Huntington disease gene status as well as those who do), as well as their families and friends. The facilitators provide a safe, confidential environment that encourages discussion about Huntington disease and what it’s like to live at risk for Huntington disease.
