Application process for the 2009-10 fellowship
The application deadline for 2009-10 fellowship is January 15, 2009. The fellowship begins July 1, 2009 and ends on June 30, 2010.
Selection criteria:
- Career motivation and goals
- Academic record
- Letters of recommendation
- Interview with University of Iowa program leadership and faculty
- Prior research is considered, but is neither required nor an overriding factor.
Eligibility
- Students matriculated at any US medical school who are in good academic standing and have completed two or more years of medical school prior to the start of the fellowship are eligible to apply.
Choosing a Mentor & Research Project
- Applicants are not required to select mentors or design their research projects prior to acceptance to the program.
About applying:
To Apply:
- Complete the national online application form (Application form)
- Arrange to send to Iowa the following items:
- CV or list of honors and awards
- Medical School transcripts
- Undergraduate transcripts
- Three letters of references
- Two letters of support from faculty who can comment on your academic performance and potential for clinical research
- A letter of support from the Dean's office of the medical school in which you are currently matriculated.
