The Biosciences Program is a multidisciplinary entry program for 11 PhD degree granting programs that includes Pharmacology as well as other programs in the biological and biomedical sciences at The University of Iowa. Students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Pharmacology should apply through this program.
The Iowa Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) is an NIH funded training program which provides a combined MD/PhD degree that integrates graduate research training with clinical studies. The MSTP highlights the interconnections between science and medicine with the goal of producing physician scientists who will make major impacts on health care delivery in the 21st century.
Faculty in the Department of Pharmacology participate in a number of interdisciplinary graduate programs within the University of Iowa. Many students from these programs conduct their dissertation research in the laboratories of departmental faculty.
