Clinical Pathology Laboratories

- Comprised of four laboratories:
- Clinical Laboratory Scientists perform chemistry tests on blood, serum, urine, and other body fluids.
- Tests include: blood sugar, potassium, cholesterol, drugs of abuse, Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Hepatitis testing.
- These labs provide service to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics 24 hours per day, seven days per week on a routine or rapid turn-around basis.
- More than 1.2 million patient tests were analyzed in the last year.
