The mission of the Quality, Accreditation, and Compliance Team is to guide the Department of Pathology to achieve premiere clinical service by coordinating all quality improvement and compliance efforts. The team promotes a departmental proactive approach toward more efficient and cost effective customer service and toward achieving full regulatory compliance, meeting or exceeding all regulatory standards set forth by accreditation and regulatory agencies including: College of American Pathologists (CAP), AABB, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), The Joint Commission (JC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The team will also provide leadership in University of Iowa Health Care's mission to ensure that the results of patient testing conducted at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics are of the highest quality, regardless of testing site.
