As the Manager of the Quality, Accreditation and Compliance Team, Debby is responsible for ensuring that the department strives for compliance with all accrediting and regulatory agencies overseeing the various areas of Pathology and the special function laboratories outside of Pathology performing patient testing. This includes complying with accreditation standards and regulations according to the following organizations: College of American Pathologists (CAP), AABB, Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), The Joint Commission (JC), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Some of the programs designed to measure compliance include:
- Evaluation of key indicators for process and outcomes analysis
- Quality System Management programs throughout the department
- Quality Assurance training programs (cGMPs)
- Performing and reviewing internal quality, safety and compliance audits
- Evaluating the trended data from event management programs for continual quality improvement
