Film Recorder Guidelines

FIRST AND FOREMOST: Be sure to leave at least 1/2 inch margins between the text and the outside edges of the slide! Otherwise the slide mount will cut off the letterforms.

Before preparing slides to be imaged from Mac or Windows PowerPoint, go to the Page Setup dialog box under the File menu and select  35mm format in the “slides sized for”  pull down menu. (default is “on screen show”-wrong dimensions).

If importing graphics or photos, be sure they are high resolution. Low resolution images like screen shots or web downloads do not print well (they do work for digital projector presentation).

For Greek letters (g, m) use the Symbol font, not “insert symbol” from the menu bar.

Please include only the slides you want imaged in the file.

Do not use any fonts other than those included with Microsoft Office. If you do, please check with the MDA to see of that font is available to the film recorder. Use Courier if you need monospaced type.

Other graphics programs: Export high resolution files for imaging as Photoshop, Targa, TIFF, EPS, PICT or Scrapbook files. Be sure the background in a 2:3 ration is included in the file.

Standard turnaround time is 2 days, but please indicate if it isn't needed that quickly.

Both Mac and Windows PowerPoint files for imaging can be transferred to the MDA over the network:

HEALTHCARE>HC-FILE4>PATHOLOGY>MDA drop

or they can be attached to email. EITHER WAY, CALL 335-8225 TO VERIFY RECEIPT!
