Clinical Pharmacology & Pharmacogenomics Fellowship, University of Chicago, 2003-2005

As the Director of the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory, I am interested in all aspects of diagnostic chemistry, including cardiac markers, endocrinology, therapeutic drug monitoring, and toxicology.  I have used computational methods to predict cross-reactivity of immunoassays used in clinical chemistry, especially those used for drug of abuse screening and therapeutic drug monitoring.  My basic research interests include drug metabolism, molecular toxicology, and bile acids, as well as the structure and evolution of nuclear hormone receptors.  In terms of educational activities, I am director of the two-week medical school clerkship on laboratory medicine and am interested in developing novel methods of teaching laboratory medicine to medical students and residents.
