Chemistry Special Assay Laboratory

200 Hawkins Drive - 387 Medical Research Center
Iowa City, IA 52242-1009

Ph.D. Iowa State University, 1969

Postdoctoral trainee in Biochemistry, SUNY at Buffalo, 1969-71

I have recently been involved in projects that are in the general topic area of chemometrics which is the use of mathematical modeling to improve the analytical process.

Clinical chemistry applications of chemometrics that I have investigated include detection of interferents, multi-component analysis, and kinetic confirmation of analyte identification. At the present, I am modeling two-stage free hormone assays (FT 4 and FT3) in order to improve the utility and robustness of these analytical systems.
