Development of New Computerized Teaching Methods
The department has a computerized educational development laboratory equipped with the hardware and software necessary to produce virtual slides and interactive learning modules (see: The Virtual Slidebox and Case Analysis). National Library of Medicine Grants have supported equipment and programming for projects. Currently we are upgrading/developing computer assisted patient simulations for medical student education and evaluation (LabCAPS) which aim to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness of laboratory testing.
