In order to conserve resources during these difficult financial times, certain low volume drug levels will no longer be performed in the Pathology laboratories but will be sent to a reference laboratory. Beginning 9/15/2009, primidone and quinidine levels will be performed at a reference lab. This may result in longer turnaround times for these levels.
On September 15, 2009, the specimen requirements will change to:
Quinidine:
Adult: 2 mLs whole blood in red top tube
Peds: 1 mLs whole blood in red top tube
Primidone:
Adult: 2 mLs whole blood in red top tube
Peds: 1.6 mLs whole blood in red top tube
