Minimum:
Adult preferred minimum:  0.5 mL Serum
Adult absolute minimum:   0.2 mL Serum

Pediatric minimum:  0.1 mL Serum
Rejection Criteria:
Severely lipemic, contaminated, heat-activated, or hemolyzed specimens.
Delivery Instructions:
Submit specimen to laboratory as soon as possible after collection.
Analytic Time:
1 week
Reference Range:
0.8 EV or less: Negative - No significant level of IgM antibody to H. 
pylori detected.

0.9-1.1 EV: Equivocal - Repeat testing in 10-14 days may be helpful.

1.2 EV or greater: Positive - IgM antibody to H. pylori detected, 
suggestive of active infection.
Test
Limitations:
Gastric colonization by Helicobacter pylori has been implicated in the 
development of some cases of gastritis and peptic or duodenal ulcer.  
The clinical utility of H. pylori antibody, IgM measurement has not 
been clearly established.
