Collection Medium:
Lavender top tube (EDTA)
Minimum:
5 mL blood in a lavender top or yellow top, 1 mL bone marrow aspirate 
in a lavender top or yellow top,  3 cu mm of fresh frozen tissue or 
Formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissue, body fluids in a lavender top 
or yellow top or lymph node aspirates in RPMI.
Delivery Instructions:
Submit specimen to laboratory as soon as possible after collection.

Comments:
DNA extracted from blood, bone marrow mononuclear cells or tissue is 
examined for rearrangement of immunoglobin heavy chain genes.
Test
Limitations:
Specimens fixed in B5 fixative are unsuitable for testing.
Methodology:
Multiplex PCR followed by Fluorescence Capillary Electrophoresis
CPT Code:
83890, 83900, 83901(x4), 83909(x3), 83912; if paraffin block or fresh 
tissue is submitted, remove CPT code 83890 and add 83907.
