5 ml blood in lavender or yellow top, 1 ml bone marrow aspirate in lavendar or yellow top, or 3 cu mm of fresh frozen tissue. Blood and bone marrow must be fresh; separated mononuclear cells may be frozen. | ||

Submit specimen to laboratory as soon as possible after collection. | ||

Transport fresh tissue on dry ice. Blood and bone marrows should be transported on ice. DNA extracted from blood or bone marrow mononuclear cells or tissue is examined for rearrangement of immunoglobulin heavy chain genes, immunoglobulin kappa chain genes, T cell receptor beta chain genes. Test is run weekly. | ||
