New Faces

Marcy Simpson joined the department in September 2006 as the new Patient Care Coordinator for the Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic.  Marcy worked for many years in the travel industry including a stint at Winebrenner Red Carpet Travel and learned business administration from Kirkwood and the U of I.  Marcy may be spotted with her delightful 6 year-old daughter cheering on the Mens Basketball team at most home games.

Arlene Lyon
Joining the front desk staff is Arlene, a thoroughbred Iowan born in Cedar Rapids and now residing in Olin.  Arlene, her husband, daughter and son raise show cattle as an expensive side hobby.  Less expensive hobbies include NASCAR racing (watching it, not racing you understand?), sports and her dog Tobey .

Elizabeth Walker, M.A., CCC-SP-A

Beth has joined our department as research assistant on the children's cochlear implant team. Her primary research interests are in lexical and vocal development in children who are deaf or hard of hearing, with particular interests in how word learning and infant babbling can be used to track speech and language progress in young children with cochlear implants.

She has a dual certification as a speech-language pathologist and audiologist. She is currently a doctoral candidate in speech and hearing science at the University of Iowa.
