Graduation Reception and Ceremony

The College of Medicine’s graduation reception will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Friday May 16, 2008, at the Medical Education and Research Facility. Family and friends are invited. This menu is referred to as “heavy hors d’oeuvres". It is not a full meal. There is no charge to attend. Students are encouraged to give their family and friends a tour of the building. The class composite picture will be on display and the Match Day CD will be running in the Auditorium.

The College of Medicine’s graduation ceremony will be held at 7:30 pm on Friday May 16, 2008 at Hancher Auditorium. The doors open at 6:30 pm. Graduates must arrive no later than 7:00 pm. No tickets are required and there is no reserved seating. Anyone requiring seating accommodations to attend this ceremony should contact Marcia Hopp in the Office of Medical Student Affairs and Curriculum, marcia-hopp@uiowa.edu, 335-8053 or 1-800-342-2978.

In addition to the Doctor of Medicine degrees, other degrees being awarded are the Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medical Technology, Bachelor of Science in Radiation Sciences, the Masters of Medical Education, and the Master of Physician Assistant Studies degrees. The ceremony will end at approximately 9:15 pm.
