Human health challenges extend beyond political boundaries. The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine encourages our students to pursue their goals of better serving the global community through on-campus global medicine electives, off-campus community based elective courses and clerkships, international academic exchange opportunities, a weekly speaker series, monthly mentorship dinners, local and international conference participation, service programs, short-term medical mission involvement, research collaboration, a vibrant student organization the Global Medicine Society, and more. Our global programs involvement has stretched us from our home city across the world to over 50 nations.
