Applying to the Carver College of Medicine

The Carver College of Medicine values a diverse, broadly educated student body.

Generally speaking, here are the steps you'll need to take to apply to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine:

  1. The selection process begins when you file an application with the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS).
  2. You must take the Medical College Admission Test at some point during the application process.
  3. Your application will be evaluated by the Carver College of Medicine to ensure that minimum standards are met.
  4. You'll then be asked to complete a secondary application...
  5. ... and then we may invite you to visit us for an admissions interview.

The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is offered on various dates between January 25-September 13, 2008. Please refer to the AAMC Website for Registration and Test Dates
