Medical Student Research Day is a day for the CCOM community to enjoy learning about research projects conducted by medical students in the college. Our last Research Day was on Friday, September 4, 2015. First and second year medical school classes were suspended for the day so all could take advantage of this opportunity. M1 and M2 students had specific assignments related to the day's events to be completed in conjunction with one of their regular courses.
Posters of the students' research were on display throughout the day. Concurrent oral presentations began at 8:15 AM in various classrooms throughout MERF. Jeff Murray, MD - Professor, Department of Pediatrics and Deputy Director, Discovery and Translational Sciences at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation - was the keynote speaker at 10:30 AM. There were two judging rounds for poster presentations at 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM to fill out the day's events.
