Medical Education Council
The Medical Education Council (MEC) is the designated executive body
responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of the
curriculum of the Carver College of Medicine. The MEC consults with
departmental DEOs, the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Curriculum
(OSAC), the Office of Consultation and Research in Medical Education
(OCRME), and others as needed. The final decision making authority
regarding matters affecting the curriculum rests with the Dean of the
Carver College of Medicine. The voting membership consists of the
Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Curriculum, 1 Assistant Dean for
Student Affairs and Curriculum, 6 faculty representatives from any
department, 2 representatives from OCRME, and 2 student
representatives.
