Douglas C. Smith, MSW, LMSW, is the Project Director of Project Iowa SCY, (Strengthening Communities for Youth) one of the twelve SCY projects funded by CSAT. He has been involved in substance abuse treatment, prevention and research since he graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1996). He received his Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2000). Currently he is finishing his Ph.D. in Social Work at the University of Iowa. On a personal note, Doug enjoys running, reading science fiction, and is an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
