Who We Are: The Adolescent Health and Resource Center houses a variety of health and social services for teenagers and their families. The center is part of Project Iowa SCY (Strengthening Communities For Youth) which is funded by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment. Project Iowa SCY is a unit of the adolescent medicine program in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Iowa. Our center strives to be teen friendly and family centered by making our health and social services relevant to each person’s individual needs. We currently serve teens and parents living in Johnson and Iowa Counties in the state of Iowa.

Our Mission: To strengthen the community’s response to adolescent substance abuse primarily through treatment, but also including early intervention and prevention services.
Our Philosophy: We believe that teens and their families come to our doors with concerns that they are already dealing with as best they can. We see our role as assisting with identifying the key concerns that might exist and determining strengths and resources that will enable teens and families to generate better solutions and improve their lifestyles.
