Kristi earned her PhD from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in 1982, prior to joining the University of Iowa in 1983. She began her career at the University of Iowa in the Office of Consultation and Research in Medical Education, and was promoted to the Director of OCRME in 1996.In her free time, Kristi enjoys writing creative non-fiction and playing call. She recently had an essay published in Kaiser-Permanente’s online literary magazine.
Kristi “thoroughly enjoys working with faculty who are interested in improving the educational experience for students and residents.” Her research interests “focus on devising those strategies based on best evidence available.” Her “current work with students is primarily through case-based learning or the Teaching Elective for fourth year students, all of whom are highly motivated to improve their teaching skills as they prepare for residency.”
