15th International Congress of Immunology

The deadline for travel award request and abstract submission is February 15, 2013. We hope that you will join leading researchers at the 15th International Congress of Immunology in Milan, Italy from May 12-14, 2013.
The meeting will explore all fields of immunology, with emphasis on human immunology, translational and clinical immunology, and immune intervention. The scientific activities are developed in six parallel tracks running daily:
A. Innate immunity
B. Immune receptors and signaling
C. Adaptive immunity
D. Host-pathogen interactions
E. Immune-mediated disease pathogenesis
F. Translational immunology and immune intervention
The program includes presentations from a large number of prominent immunologists (list of confirmed speakers available here) delivering 12 Plenary Lectures, 10 Perspecitves in Immunology Lectures, 35 Lunchtime Lectures, and 150 seminars in thematic Symposia. The conference will also offer 100 focused workshops, each with 6 speakers selected from accepted abstarcts, 5 poster sessions, a late breaking session, and several industry-sponsored symposia and tutorials.

FOCiS Center of Excellence
The University of Iowa is a designated FOCiS Center of Excellence (FCE) site. Dr. Elizabeth H. Field is the UI director with Dr. Lyse Norian as the Associate Director. As a FOCiS Center for Excellence, the University of Iowa is building an interdisciplinary translational immunology community. UI offers an effective training environment for translational researchers and clinicians by promoting interdisciplinary innovation in research and clinical practices, and promoting new links for researchers and clinicians.
- The Center for Immunology and Immune-Based Diseases invites applications from post-doctoral trainees for The University of Iowa FOCIS Center of Excellence scholarship and travel award to The Advanced Course in Basic & Clinical Immunology February 24-28, 2013 in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA. University of Iowa Vaccine Research and Education Unit
The University of Iowa Vaccine Research and Education Project was established in 2007 with a $23.7 million contract from The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). As part of the seven-year contract, the UI unit conducts clinical trials of promising vaccines and therapies for infectious diseases.
T32 Training Grant
The objective of the University of Iowa Immunology Postdoctoral Training Program is to produce outstanding independent immunologist investigators that will pursue successful academic careers. The core of the program is a 90% time commitment to immunology research experience under the supervision of a preceptor who is an outstanding immunology researcher with current external research funding and enthusiasm for mentoring.
