 Resources for CNA Educators
These programs are useful for community college nurse aide instructors, directors of nursing in long-term care facilities, staff development coordinators, and others responsible for the pre-service and inservice training of direct care workers.

Dementia and Challenging Behaviors Series

This series of six interactive, story-based Internet modules teaches strategies for dealing with common challenges faced when providing care to people with dementia. It is focused on the long-term care environment, but is also appropriate for the hospital or other settings.

Introduction to CNA Practice Series

These nine interactive, story-based Internet modules address many of the topics that are included in the federally mandated 16 hours of training that must be occur before a person can begin to work in a long-term care facility. They can be incorporated into a nurse aide certification course, or used for refresher training inservice for practicing CNAs.

Online Nurse Aide Course

This 45-hour online nurse aide course covers all of the material needed before participating in the clinical experience that comprises the remainder of the 75-hour Nurse Aide course in the state of Iowa.

Info-Connect

Info-Connect is a series of informational pamphlets that are designed to be a source of practical information for long-term care providers on topics of key importance. They are published and distributed quarterly. Online versions of past Info-Connect brochures are also available.
