The Iowa Institute of Human Genetics (IIHG) Genomics Division provides a broad spectrum of resources designed to make the techniques of genomics, functional genomics, and recombinant DNA technology readily available to the University of Iowa research and clinical communities and outside users. Comprehensive support from experimental design and sample preparation through downstream analysis are available for all technologies. The division hosts a monthly Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) User Group meeting for anyone performing NGS experiments.
The IIHG Genomics Division is a CLIA certified, Joint Commission accredited laboratory. Separate pipelines have been established for the processing of clinical or research samples submitted to the Genomics Division. Staff training, instrumentation and quality assurance processes meet CLIA and Joint Commission requirements and were designed based on CAP 2012 molecular pathology guidelines.
The Iowa Institute of Human Genetics Genomics Division is supported by the Carver College of Medicine, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center (HCCC), Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust, and user fees. The support of the IIHG Genomics Division by the HCCC provides compensation for some of the division’s services is extended to HCCC investigators. Please contact the IIHG Genomics Division Director for HCCC rates.
An account with the Genomics Division is required to access our services. Contact the IIHG Genomics Division administrator, Lisa Koizumi to set up a new account or modify an existing account.
