Genomics Division

An account with the Genomics Division is required to access our services.

The Iowa Institute of Human Genetics (IIHG) Genomics Division provides a broad spectrum of resources designed to make the techniques of genomics, functional genomics, and recombinant DNA technology readily available to the University of Iowa research and clinical communities and outside users. Comprehensive support from experimental design and sample preparation through downstream analysis are available for all technologies.

The IIHG Genomics Division is a CLIA certified, College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited laboratory. Separate pipelines have been established for the processing of clinical and research samples to ensure priortization of sample submission within each workflow.  Staff training, instrumentation and quality assurance processes meet CLIA and CAP standards.

The IIHG Genomics Division is supported by the Carver College of Medicine, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center (HCCC), Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust, and user fees. Support of the IIHG Genomics Division by the HCCC is extended to HCCC members as compensation for some of the division’s services. Please contact the IIHG Genomics Division for HCCC rates.
