    Revenue Cycle Coordinator (PVC3)



    The Department of Family Medicine is seeking a part-time Revenue Cycle Coordinator. This position will help oversee the development of medical services billing and on-sight collections, serve as liaison for both outpatient and inpatient medical services billing processes, and ensure compliance with CMS billing and documentation guidelines. Other duties include: performing activities related to medical record documentation completion and compliance, monitoring work queues, reviewing claim denials and point of service payment processes, facilitating electronic medical record (EMR) enhancements, serving as a member of clinic performance improvement meetings. The position will also serve as a resource to patients, area medical directors, faculty physicians, residents, other hospital departments and outside agencies regarding billing processes of the Family Medicine Clinic and department, assist in patient care quality improvement and patient satisfaction processes; strategic planning, goal setting, communications and coordination of clinical services in the Department of Family Medicine

    Family Medicine/Sports Medicine Position

    The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is seeking a Board Certified Family Medicine physician with a CAQ in Sports Medicine. The University of Iowa is located in Iowa City Iowa, home of the University of Iowa and the Division 1 University of Iowa Hawkeyes.  Clinical practice is based at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and at the state of the art University of Iowa Sports Medicine Center, which houses orthopedics, primary care, physical therapy, athletic training, x-ray, MRI and musculoskeletal ultrasound all in one location.

    Candidates with a strong background in caring for female athletes and with interest in developing a comprehensive women's health program are strongly desired.  Candidates must have completed an ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency Program and be Board Certified in Family Medicine.  Additionally, a one year fellowship in Sports Medicine and successful completion or eligibility for a CAQ in Sports Medicine is also required.  Candidates must have an interest in developing a clinical practice, engaging in research endeavors, and participating as teaching faculty in our resident/fellowship education programs.

    The Department of Family Medicine is recruiting for either a one or two year full-time research development position that will lead to a certificate in Translational Science and Clinical Investigation (one year) or a Master’s in Clinical Investigation (two years). Both programs are through the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Iowa, College of Public Health. The selected candidate will spend 50% time on faculty development, including coursework and research activities to prepare for research in family medicine, and 50% time in clinical care and teaching. Opportunities exist to participate in our obstetrics/newborn or inpatient services.

    Requirements include:  

    • Education requirement: MD
    • The successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine residency program.
    • Must have or be eligible for an Iowa medical license.
    • Board certified or Board eligible in Family Medicine.
