  • The Alson E. Braley Lecture

    Braley, A.E.The Braley Lecture was started in 1981 with a generous gift from Dr. Clifford Hendricks, a former resident under Dr. Braley, and a grateful and loyal supporter of the Department who practiced ophthalmology throughout his career in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

    The Braley Lecture has been given yearly since 1981 as a tribute to Dr. Braley who during his tenure as professor and head of the Department of Ophthalmology played a pivotal role in the education and training of many young physicians.
