Dr. Gehlbach’s research interests are focused on two main areas: (1) the causes and consequences of sleep and circadian disruption during critical illness and recovery, and (2) the neural control of breathing in patients with epilepsy.
His clinical interests include the care of patients with respiratory failure and shock. He also has a longstanding interest in graduate and postgraduate medical education.
