Developmental Disability

A developmental disability is any condition or disorder of the body, mind, or emotions. It occurs before the age of 22 and interferes with a child’s normal development. It is likely to continue throughout a person’s life. It may result in substantial functional limitations in three or more of the following areas of major life activity:

Self-care
Language
Learning
Mobility
Self-direction
Independent living
Economic self-sufficiency
