Biosciences Program Faculty performing Signal Transduction research

Cells respond to stimuli (such as drugs, hormones, etc.) that bind transmembrane and intracellular receptors. The activated receptors initiate signal transduction cascades that regulate the activity state of enzymes and genes in the cell. Uncovering the mechanisms of signal transduction is one of the major goals of research at the University of Iowa.
