    Applications to our participating PhD programs are submitted via the Preliminary Application. You will receive a username and password that will allow you to return to work on your preliminary application over several sessions. Your information is transmitted through a secure server and is kept confidential until you submit your preliminary application. There is no application fee.

    A preliminary application will not be evaluated until the following items have been received:

    1. Application
    2. Uploaded unofficial transcripts/academic record from undergraduate and any graduate schools
    3. Three (3) letters of recommendation
    4. Self-reported GRE scores  
    5. Self-reported TOEFL (International applicants only)


    Students wishing to complete the preliminary application process should submit required materials no later than January 1 for full consideration. Applications received after January 1 will be considered on a rolling basis.


    Selected candidates will be contacted by email and invited for an on-campus interview. Interviews are not conducted prior to submission and evaluation of a preliminary application. Travel costs within the US will be covered by the hosting PhD program. Interviews allow applicants the opportunity to measure the quality of the program, the research interests of our faculty, visit with current graduate students, and decide if his or her research interests are a good fit with the institution. Interviews will be conducted in early 2016.

    Checking Application Status

    You will be able to check the status of your preliminary application materials online by utilizing the username and password provided to you by the Preliminary Application System. Please check your application status frequently and follow-up with the appropriate person(s) to facilitate the timely submission of the required materials.
