Board of Advisors

The Medicine Alumni Society Board is comprised of members representing various class years, disciplines, backgrounds, clinical interests, geographic areas, ethnicities and genders. The Board meets to serve the needs of the UI Carver College of Medicine community, through their desire to retain close ties with their alma mater and support their academic home.

The Board perpetuates a sense of pride in and commitment to the outstanding qualities of the UI Carver College of Medicine and the education it provides through communication, service and leadership. The Medicine Alumni Society Board seeks out and encourages talented alumni for volunteer roles, alumni awards and other alumni activities as well as assisting in identifying and implementing programming that will enhance the student experience at the UI Carver College of Medicine.

The purpose of this group is to:

• Advise the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine on the development and promotion of alumni partnership initiatives that create meaningful volunteer opportunities for alumni as advisors, advocates, ambassadors, mentors and peer liaisons;
• Establish and support on-campus, statewide and regional/national programs serving to educate, involve and honor alumni;
• Help refine the communication with alumni and other external audiences;
• Provide support for students, residents and fellows at the UI Carver College of Medicine through programs, scholarships, fellowships, and financial contributions.
