    Women Faculty Development Conference:
Women's Values and Voices: Navigating Politics and Policy Inside and Outside of Academia

Friday, February 12, 2016 - An All Day Event
Holiday Inn and Conference Center, Coralville Iowa

Harold Lasswell, a famous political scientist,  defined politics as “who gets what, when, and how.” The conference theme this year, Women’s Value and Voice, asks us to think about this definition of politics and how we navigate it in and outside academia. During the conference, we will address a wide-range of questions.

    • How can we influence public policy?
    • Why are women underrepresented in elected governmental positions?
    • Why are elected positions in our professional associations important and how do we successfully obtain them?
    • How do we decide where to commit our service hours?
    • When do we act as advocates, activists, and philanthropists?

In the heart of an election year, take time to consider who gets what, when, and how and the impact of our values and voice in these processes.

    Special Guests Include–

    Ann Bonham, PhD
    Jennifer Vermeer, MPH
    Dianne Bystrom, PhD
     Ginny Wilson Peters,  MBA
