Kealey and Wibbenmeyer lead the Burn Treatment Center

G. Patrick Kealey, MD and Lucy A. Wibbenmeyer, MD are serving as Interim Co-Directors of the UI Burn Treatment Center while we conduct a national search for a successor.
Dr. Kealey is a Professor in the Division of Acute Care Surgery and has been with the Department of Surgery for 29 years. During his distinguished career, he has held a number of important leadership roles within the Department of Surgery, including Interim Head of the Department of Surgery and Director of the Division of Acute Care Surgery. He has been a longstanding leader in the field of burn and wound treatment, recently serving as President of the American Burn Association.
Dr. Wibbenmeyer is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Acute Care Surgery and has been an integral part of the Burn Treatment Center for 14 years. She is a critical care boarded surgeon who has staffed the burn unit while leading a diverse and productive clinical research program.
