Cardiovascular Interventional Program
Mission
The mission of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics' Cardiovascular Interventional Program is to recruit quality individuals and provided an ambitious education that is taught and facilitated by a professional caring staff and will yield responsible, independent thinking technologists who can function compassionately and competently. The required comprehensive clinical component provides extensive experience in a wide variety of diagnostic procedures and current imaging equipment, providing graduates with the versatility needed to function in any health care setting to meet the needs of their patients.
Goals
- Recruit quality students into the Cardiovascular Interventional Program.
- Provide an educational experience that will support and comply with the Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice of the profession.
- Enable the student to develop interpersonal skills to effectively interact in a professional and personal manner with patients, and members of the health care team.
- Facilitate a core curriculum that provides the student with the understanding and knowledge to produce quality images.
- Provide the student with the career activities needed to gain clinical competency in all aspects of cardiovascular interventional imaging.
